that article i asked a few people to write things for is coming soon, hopefully

thank you to everyone who wrote comments about getting a cat. i feel a bit better about the idea. i think a cat is 'forthcoming'.

i saw My Bloody Valentine at the Apollo on Saturday. they played 35 minutes of gigantic crushing noise at the end of the set:

it was amazing. i started thinking things about 'the creation of the universe'. i started hoping that the Apollo would explode. when i came out afterwards, i felt like something in a bubble-wrap airmail envelope (maybe a snowglobe bought on eBay).

Wow. That looked pretty special. Saw Radiohead on Sunday. They were great, but nowhere near that damn noisy. I probably should have gone to that. Sigh.

Martin, would it make you sick if i told you that i went to Radiohead too? i saw Tom Mills in Chorlton and he gave me a 'tip off' that the touts were selling the tickets cheap. (i got in for a tenner.)

I have just been sick through my eyes. 10 quid!!!!!!! I paid 40 for mine, then was told almost immediately by numerous friends that they could be got for much less. Ah well, it was very good anyway wasn't it? Mills has become some kind of ticket guru, i may someday soon make the long walk to Dulcimer to pay my respects.

Damn. I am now jealous. I saw their first official reformation gig at the Roundhouse on 20th June, and the noise section in You Made Me Realise lasted only 15 minutes. Approximately. I say approximately because, well, I wasn't timing them. Strangely enough.

Arggghhh! Now it is my turn to be mad jealous! I have wanted to see Tom Waits for about 10 years, first gigs in UK in ages and I can't afford even a shitty nose-bleed seat. You have all of my envy sir.
